The Mission

The mission of Lone Star WaterOps Training is to ensure affordable, reliable, and water utility-focused training that strengthens water treatment knowledge, promotes safety, supports regulatory compliance, and helps prepare current and future operators for success in the water industry.

Our goals are to:

1. Provide affordable and convenient training for water professionals
   Deliver courses that connect quality classroom instruction with low-cost financial flexibility without having to think twice.

2. Support current and future water operators
   Help new and experienced operators build confidence, improve technical knowledge, and prepare for career advancement.

3. Promote safety-first thinking
   Reinforce safe work practices in areas such as chemical handling, confined spaces, lockout/tagout, emergency response, PPE use, and situational awareness.

4. Improve operator readiness
   Prepare operators to respond to equipment issues, water quality changes, process upsets, alarms, and abnormal operating conditions.

5. Strengthen utility performance
   Support utilities through customized training, SOP development, competency checks, and organization-specific training programs.

6. Build a stronger Texas water workforce
   Contribute to the long-term success of the water industry by helping operators develop the skills needed to protect public health and serve their communities.

“Straight from the Trenches”

Lone Star WaterOps Training was founded by a dedicated water treatment professional with more than a decade of hands-on experience in municipal water operations, plant supervision, safety, and operator development.

He began his career working in demanding field environments, including mechanical, industrial, warehouse, drilling, hydro-vac, and utility-related work. Those early jobs built a strong foundation in discipline, safety, problem-solving, and hard work. He also served in the United States Marine Corps, where he developed leadership, accountability, and a mission-focused mindset.

After entering the municipal water utility industry, he worked his way through several operational and supervisory roles. His experience includes water systems maintenance(Plant/Distribution), water treatment operations, senior operator duties, lead operator responsibilities, and shift supervision. Over time, he developed a deep understanding of water treatment plant operations, chemical systems, water treatment chemistry, maintenance principles, regulatory compliance, project management, emergency response, SCADA monitoring, process control, safety procedures, and team leadership.

He holds a Texas Class A Water Operator License and a Utility Management Certification from the National Rural Water Association. His background includes supervising operators, balancing operational objectives, training staff, developing SOPs, supporting chemical systems, responding to plant issues, and helping maintain safe and compliant treatment operations.

Lone Star Water-Ops Training was created from that experience. It is the stance of this company that strong operators/utility workers are built through clear instruction, high standards, and real-world application. The founder’s goal is to give operators and water utility workers the kind of training that makes sense in the classroom and still holds up when they are standing in the plant, watching the screens, checking equipment, or making decisions that affect public health.
