TCEQ Water Treatment Core Courses

A TCEQ-approved/trained instructor will deliver an online live instructor-led course that reinforces core concepts, provides informative feedback, and foster a sustained learning environment for new and tenured water operators/utility workers.

New Developments and Updates

In Development: Water Utilities: Emerging Leaders Course

Lone Star WaterOps Training is developing WATER UTILITIES: EMERGING LEADERS COURSE, an original, eight-hour training course focused on the leadership and management responsibilities of water utility professionals.

Designed for operators, lead operators, supervisors, and aspiring utility leaders, the course will help participants connect their technical experience with practical skills for supervising employees, managing resources, supporting compliance, and maintaining dependable service.

What the course will cover

  • Leadership and supervision: Communication, delegation, accountability, and team performance.

  • Workforce development: Employee development, performance management, and succession planning.

  • Financial stewardship: Budget fundamentals, expense monitoring, and responsible resource decisions.

  • Operations and asset management: Planning, maintenance priorities, documentation, and long-term reliability.

  • Regulatory accountability: Management responsibilities, governance, and public-service obligations.

  • Safety and emergency preparedness: Risk awareness, coordination, and continuity of essential services.

  • Strategic planning and public relations: Organizational improvement, customer communication, and public trust.

Development includes a dedicated student manual, instructor resources, and coordinated presentations. The materials emphasize clear explanations and practical relevance to the challenges utility teams face.

Course status and continuing education credit

This course is currently in development and has not been approved by TCEQ for continuing education credit. Lone Star WaterOps Training intends to submit the completed course for consideration as an eight-hour CE offering.

Enrollment dates, pricing, delivery details, and approved credit information will be announced as development and regulatory review progress.
